I now have a much better gas setup! My camper van

I now have a much better gas setup!

My camper van came with a long propane tank that sat underneath the van (you can see it in one of the clips in the reel). But it was old, rusty, and hard to access.

So, my Dad realized that a regular propane tank would fit in the compartment that the generator used to be in.

And now, with the help of (or well, let’s be honest, he did it all) my Dad, I now have a much better and safer place for my propane in the van!

The propane runs my refrigerator and stove, 2 major things I need in the van!

It was such a beautiful evening in Virginia, and e

It was such a beautiful evening in Virginia, and even though the leaves were almost gone from the trees, I knew I had to venture out and capture the last little bit of their color.

As I was walking around, admiring the sun shining through the trees of the park, the wind started to pick up. And when it did, I was caught standing amongst so many leaves being blown off the tree limbs and floating down to greet the forest floor.

It was such a simple thing to witness and yet, there I stood in the middle of this park, on a warm fall day, with what I’m sure was just a silly grin on my face and wonder in my eyes.

Pure, simple joy.

And now everytime I think of that day and those leaves falling all around me, that smile seems to show up on my face once again.

Fall in southwest Virginia is always such a beauti

Fall in southwest Virginia is always such a beautiful time of year. And while it was still beautiful this year, I felt like it wasn’t as grand as it usually is.

The terrible rain storms and flooding that happened in the area at the end of September I feel, really affected this year’s fall season. With all the rain here, the leaves that were still on the trees weren’t really changing and everything was turning green again. It was like spring!

Finally, the trees and leaves that survived the storms started turning and although I was a little late on the photos this year, here’s a few that I snapped last week!

Things that just make sense in my camper van… 1

Things that just make sense in my camper van…

1. Two wash cloths by the sink - One for drying dishes and hands, the other because the water will splash and sun so it catches the water.

2. Black foam boards on the windows - The boards help to keep light out and for privacy. I’ve noticed it also helps insulate the van a little.

3. Tape on the holes in the doors - I had to put tape over these holes because when I would have the doors open, bees would try to go in the holes!

4. Never closing the bathroom door - I leave the door open for several reasons. One, it’s too much of a hassle to close. Two, the space is so small! And three, leaving the door open makes the van feel more open.

5. Metal bar across the bathroom - This metal bar was already installed when I bought the van. I use it to hang wet items for right now, and will probably use it like a closet for some items I want to hang later when I travel more.

6. Velcro everywhere - I use velcro to hang up window coverings and even my screen door coverings. You’ll find velcro throughout my whole camper van!

7. An unmade bed - In a regular bed, I always try to make it up. However, in the van, it’s just hard to make this one up and so I often just throw the covers over the bed and call it good.

Witches Night Out 2024 was a hit once again! 🧙

Witches Night Out 2024 was a hit once again!

🧙🏻‍♀️Us witches got to dress up and hit the town of Marion, Virginia for their annual Witches Night Out this past Friday and it was such a blast!

💚Lots of small businesses participated by having sales, discounts, and even drinks and snacks for the event.

💚Plus, there was a bingo game that involved going to the various businesses to shop and interact with the owners!

🤳We also added a little fun by taking pictures with people passing by (that made me feel like a celebrity lol), random cackling, and a broom race down the street!

🍹🍔We ended the night with some much needed food and drinks at a local restaurant.

💚Thanks, Marion, for such a fun night!

Staying in my camper van allows me to block out so

Staying in my camper van allows me to block out some of the noise.

It allows me to slow down for a while.

It allows me to step away from what’s expected of me, and do things that bring me joy.

When I’m in the van, I find that I can step away from the screens a little bit easier too and find pleasure in other things, like painting and reading for example.
