Now that Fall is officially here, I am so excited for all things Fall. I’m ready for cooler weather, warm, cozy clothes, and the rich scents of the season. There are also some must-dos that I try to make happen every Fall.
I’ve created a bucket list this year to help keep track and check off what I want to do during this Fall season. Maybe my list will inspire you to come up with your own bucket list and have the best Fall yet! (Be sure to read to the end for a FREEBIE!)
Drink a Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino
It seems like stores bring out the Pumpkin Spice flavors earlier every year. This year, Starbucks welcomed back the pumpkin spice drinks in August! While I’m not a huge fan of coffee drinks, I will indulge in a pumpkin spice frappuccino during Fall. It’s an easy item to check off the fall bucket list but still a good one. Plus, it’s delicious!
Watch a Classic Scary Movie
I am not someone who watches scary movies. I don’t like being scared and I don’t want to be all freaked out at home and not be able to sleep. However, I think I can handle some of the older, classic scary movies. The Halloween movie, for example, is one scary movie that I have seen and may watch again this year. My ideal Fall/Halloween movie though, is something more along the lines of Hocus Pocus or Halloweentown. Those types of movies just get me into that Fall season mood and I can’t still sleep at night after watching them!
Buy a New Fall Scented Candle
Okay, I’m a sucker for candles. I love them. My favorite scent is vanilla but I love seasonal scents too. Those warm, rich, Fall scents that are everywhere now, are the best! I added buying a candle to my bucket list because I can’t help but purchase a new one every season and I’ve actually already bought one! I bought a candle made by the company, Sand + Fog, in the White Pumpkin scent. It smells amazing and doesn’t have an overpowering pumpkin spice scent. I got mine from Marshall’s but you can also buy it here.
Buy a New Piece of Clothing for Fall
While we are on the subject of buying things, I figured I would add buying a new piece of clothing to the list. Who doesn’t love a cozy, new sweater to wear on a crisp, fall day? Fall isn’t just about the sweaters though, maybe a new pair of riding boots, a coat, or a vest is an item that could be added to your Fall wardrobe. I’m not sure what I’ll buy yet, but I can’t wait to go shopping for it!
Pick/Buy Pumpkins
Of course, I had to add pumpkins to the bucket list. You simply cannot celebrate the Fall season without pumpkins, can you?? It’s fun to pick out the perfect pumpkins, no matter where you get them from.
Last year, I bought pumpkins from a local church and while I was glad my money was going to the community, those pumpkins were not cheap! I kept them for as long as possible but once they started to rot on the front porch, we tossed them out in our back yard near our fence. To my surprise, pumpkins started growing there this year!
I was hoping for some more of the heirloom pumpkins that was thrown out there. It looked like I might have some this year but then the bugs got to them and then Hurricane Florence decided to come. Therefore, it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to pick my own pumpkins this year and I’ll have to buy them somewhere.
Eat at Mike’s Farm
This bucket list item is a more specific one but maybe you have a special place you like to go during the Fall as well. Mike’s Farm is this beautiful, little place about 30 minutes away from my house. They have hayrides, pumpkin picking, a restaurant, and everything you’d want to celebrate the Fall season. It’s become a favorite place of mine in the area and the food is amazing! The restaurant at Mike’s Farm serves their food “family style”, meaning that they bring the food out in big bowls, plates, etc. and everyone at the table just serves themselves and it’s all-you-can-eat. I Definitely had to make sure this was on the list. If you have somewhere like Mike’s Farm near you, definitely add that to your own list!
Bake a Pumpkin Pie or Cheesecake
I’m not the greatest baker but I do like to bake a pumpkin pie during Fall. A few years ago, I found a recipe for a pumpkin cheesecake and decided to give that a try. It was delicious! Now I try to make it every year! You can find those recipes and more on my Pinterest account.
Buy a Fall Mug
For someone who doesn’t drink a lot of coffee, I sure have accumulated a lot of mugs recently! I just love all of the different designs and shapes that they come in now. I couldn’t resist buying a new one for Fall this year. When I saw this mug, I knew I had to have it. It is actually more of a Halloween mug with a Corgi on it. A Corgi Halloween mug, what could be more perfect for me?!
Enjoy a Crisp Morning on the Porch with a Hot Cup of Tea
One of the reasons I love Fall is because it’s not so darn hot outside! I live in North Carolina and have a screened-in back porch that I love to sit on. During the summer months however, it’s just too hot to enjoy the porch.
When Fall rolls around though, I like to head out to the porch with a good book and a cup of hot tea (and my Corgis, of course) and enjoy the cool air. If you have a favorite spot to enjoy the Fall weather, consider adding that to your bucket list!
